Mr. Prestegord provides individual and family therapy to adults, adolescents, and children. Using a client-centered approach, he supports clients from diverse cultures in processing concerns such as depression, panic, anxiety, self-esteem, substance abuse, and domestic violence.
Prior to Neighborhood Health, Mr. Prestegord worked as a Clinical Case Manager for Cornerstones in Reston, Virginia. In that position, he provided therapy, education, and referral services to low-income families transitioning out of homelessness in Fairfax County. He also completed placements at the Inova Juniper Program and the Inova Employee Assistance Program as part of his master’s program. At the Juniper Program, he provided therapy to individuals diagnosed with HIV and assisted them in processing their diagnoses and developing coping skills. At the Employee Assistance Program, he utilized short-term solution-focused counseling and crisis intervention with various client populations.
Mr. Prestegord holds a Master of Social Work Degree from George Mason University and is certified in Virginia as a Substance Abuse Counselor Assistant. He has completed additional training in psychodynamic family therapy at the Washington Center for Psychoanalysis and substance abuse counseling at Northern Virginia Community College.
