Dr. Dryer joins the team at Neighborhood Health after nearly a decade of caring for thousands of children as an overnight ER doctor at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. In 2003, she earned her MD at Columbia University in New York, NY where her Dominican patients taught her Spanish, salsa, and instilled in her a love of plátanos and habichuelas. She completed her residency training in the Primary Care track at Children’s National Medical Center in 2007. Dr. Dryer is committed to providing excellent care to her entire community and has a special interest in providing safe and competent primary care for LBGTQ+, especially trans* and gender non-conforming youth. In Arlington, she currently facilitates a comprehensive sexual education program and works with a group seeking to prevent intra-relationship violence. In addition to working as a pediatrician, Dr. Dryer has taught Japanese, studied the medical system of Cuba during medical school in 2000, treated children in Haiti on a pro-bono basis on a medical mission after the 2010 earthquake, and participated in eight weeks of intensive Spanish language instruction in Columbia and Argentina in 2016.
